Melbourne Cricket Ground

The host city for the 1956 games, Melbourne will host football events in the 2000 games. The Melbourne Cricket Ground holds 98,000 people and is the second biggest stadium in Australia, behind the newly opened Stadium Australia in Sydney. Seven evening preliminary and quarter final sessions of football will be held there. The finals will be held in The Olympic Stadium.

Bruce Stadium, Canberra

Located in the grounds of the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, Bruce Stadium has been recently upgraded and has a capacity crowd seating of 25,000 spectators. It will host six evening preliminary and quarter final sessions of football. The finals will be held in The Olympic Stadium.

Brisbane Cricket Ground

Known affectionately as "The Gabba" by cricket fans around Australia, the Brisbane Cricket Ground will be used to host seven evening preliminary and quarter final sessions of football. It holds 36,000 spectators. The finals will be held in The Olympic Stadium.

Hindmarsh Stadium, Adelaide

Located in Adelaide, the city of churches, Hindmarsh Stadium will host seven evening preliminary and quarter final sessions of football, with a capacity crowd of 20,000 spectators. The finals will be held in The Olympic Stadium.
