The Great Wall has seen the China's progress from the Qin dynasty to now, an advanced civilisation. It has also felt moments of victory, defeat, joy and hatred. Thus it has become the object of archaeologists' and historians' studies. Also, with such a long and rich history, many poems and folklore concerning the Great Wall have evolved. They express the heartfelt feelings and thoughts of poets and commoners, feelings, be it love or deep hatred, joy or sadness. From these poems and folklore, we can have a greater understanding of feelings and thoughts towards to Great Wall.Besides the great literary masterpieces and wide-spread folklore, it includes a brief history of this magnificent structure which has braved the thousands of storms.
