Language and literature
    The Thracian language belongs to the big family of Indian - European languages. Of cause it has it character peculiarity, but for now, the language and the finds connected with the Thracian language still remain not enough investigated and well - known. The trouble is that for now there were not found any written records in Thracian language. But the fact that they still are not found any records does not prove that they do not exist.
    Evripid mentioned  “Thracian tables” on which the Thracian Orpheus recorded different medicines. The mythological relation connected with this fact we should search from the muse Calliope - his mother, the muse of science, language and epic poetry, which main attributes are a writing table, scroll and a state-pencil.
    The Thracians took the Greek language in VI BC and especially its Ionian - Attic version. There are found tables in Thracian, Greek, and Latin.
  • An inscription on a ring found and dating from VI BC. The inscription is connected with the cult to the dead, the honour to them and the cares that the Thracians gave against the desecration of the hollow places;
  • An inscription on a ring dating from V BC. This inscription proves the custom in some Thracian tribes to bury the dead husband with his lovely wife;
  • Inscriptions on four silver vessels with one and the same meaning;
  • They were found about 40 short inscriptions in Greek and Latin in the sanctuary of Kabiri- island Samothraci.
   By the existence of such a large territory on which the Thracian ethnos took place it is obvious that the language on the different territories would not be one and the same.
They were many kinds of dialects. In spite of the already mentioned inscriptions they are separate words, personal names of gods and people, names of lands, mountains, rivers, towns… The science knows 250 words, 40 of which are glosi or the so-called Thracian words according to the ancient authors. Here are some of them – eira- upper clothe like the today's hooded cloak, bria - a town, briza - rye, gent meat, zelas - wine and the different types of wine are parabia, bruton and koniza, zetrea - pot, zibutides - name of the Thracian aristocracy, torem - mourning song.
  They are known about 1000 personal names of gods, leaders and other Thracians- Ares, Dionis, Bendis, Semela, Terres, Sythalk, Sevt, Kotis, Amadoc, Spatrak, Sparadok, Orpheus, Lin, Muzeum, Evmolp, Zalmoxis, Dromiher, Kutela, Betus, Ziges, Mukatralis, Mukapor, Ebruzelm, etc.
