Religious cults

Via the religious cults, through actions, prayers and songs one expresses his religious conceptions. They comprise various rites as means of communication with the deities – prayers, mystical sacraments, idolatry, oblations, funeral rituals, etc. The religious practice of the Thracians contains three basic religious cults: the solar cult, the nature-worship and the immortality-cult. According to Herodotus, the cult of the anthropo-demon Zalmoxis was widespread in the Getic environment.
