Thomas was born in Swansea, a seacoast town in southern Wales.

Dylan Thomas returned lyrical poetry to a personal lyrical romaticism. His poems, with the rush feeling, either ignored the world or took it by storm.

His first volume, Eighteen Poems, was published in 1934 when he was only twenty.

His Collected Poems was published the year before his death.
