Albert Einstein was born in 1879 at Ulm in Germany. He moved with his family to Munich and later to Italy and Switzerland. In 1896 he enrolled for studies at the Higher Technical School in Zurich. In 1902 sfter studies he starts a job in the Patent Office. In 1905 a scientific magazine "Annalen der Physik" publishes his article on the basic ideas of the theory of relativity. In the same year he writes articles explaining Brownian movement. This theory - as presented by Einstein - is soon afterwards confirmed experimentally by Perrin (at the same time when Einstein announced his theory, a theory of Brownian movement was presented by a Pole, Marian Smoluchowski). That theory enabled scientists to determine precisely a lot of constants of the microcosm. In the very same year of 1905 Albert Einstein published an article in which he presented his conviction that light rays consist of photons - molecules carrying energy determined by Planck's constant and the frequency of the radiation. In 1909 the scientist becomes a theoretical physics professor at the Zurich University. He goes back to Berlin where he announces the general theory of relativity in 1915.
In 1933 the political situation (Nazis overtook power) forces him to leave Germany. He moves to the United States where he becomes a professor at the Princeton Institute for Advanced Study. Until death he works on creating a uniform theory that would encompass both the theory of relativity and electrodynamics. He never succeeded in that attempt.
In the times of the prosecution of Jews by the Nazis, Albert Einstein became a supporter of Zionism. In 1952 he was offered to become the president of Israel, which he declined.
Albert Einstein died in 1955.
