The Wise Man of the Renaissance--DaVinci

The Renaissance was a period of deep humanism. People were recognizing their value as humans and looking beyond religion toward science to understand the workings of their universe. One of the greatests minds of that period was Leonardo DaVinci. Through his art you can see his meticulousness and passion, through his science, you can see his wisdom and creativity. Fortunately, we are lucky to have many remaining works and notes of this scholar/artist.

As you look at DaVinci's works, you realize that he was intrigued by life. He did careful studies of the human form, learned about anatomy and ultimately concluded that there was a basic proportion to human form
The volume of his art that remains today is a tribute to his energy as well as genius.
