DESCRIPTION OF THE BRAZILEAN TOURISTIC ZONES
Amazonía
Two-thirds of the amazon correspond to Brazil, the one that is composed of low lands of wet tropical jungle in its majority, in addition to transition jungles and a minimal part without jungle. In the amazon there are high levels of rainfall, but not necessarily in all zones, due to this the Brazilean Amazon has been divided in three sectors:1.areas that receive between 3000 and 3500 mm of rainfall per year. It is found mainly in the west part of Brazil.
2. areas that have a rainfall average of 2000 mm per year, figure that it is not constant, since in a period of 1 to 3 months it decreases considerably. This climate is given mainly in the south part of the jungle of the Amazon river between Manaos and Belén.
3. dry areas can be found in the north border of the State of Roraima.The characteristic vegetation is rainy tropical green jungle in all the zone with wet climate. The seasonal climate areas are almost always rainy tropical green jungle. Furthermore, it possesses important other surfaces, as the swamp Varzea of 600 000 km and a very particular type of jungle called "Igapó" or swamp jungle.

Seen from its highest, a green and obscure forest is extended in all directions, followed by great quantity of river waters, there are river spans so long that one cannot see from one extreme to the other. In narrow places such as the Archipelago of Anavilhanas, with more than 400 islands, where the trees deforest themselves to perspire less and to fatten the fish.
There is more than four thousand vegetable species, including the best wood for furniture construction, the wonderful orquids that grow along the river that are periodically deluged. The igapós and their regal victories, with its immense round leaves and its large white and pink flowers.
This is the unknown habitat for animal kinds, many that abound but never have been classified. The land mammals are small in comparison with those of Asia and Africa. The spotty jaguar is the largest carnivorous animal. The primates abound but you cannot find orangutans or chimpanzees. The waters are household to many large fish like the pirarucu and the piraiba that can reach to three meters of length, the piranha and the mammals such as the dolphin and the manatee are numerous.
There exist more than a thousand rivers with more than 20 thousand navigable kilometers (12000 miles). In the Amazon River is Marajó, the greater maritime island - river of the world, with about 48 thousand square kilometers (18000 square miles) , the extension of Switzerland.
