Dams

The construction of hydroelectric and flood control dams leads to the prevention of the flow of fish to their natural spawning and feeding areas. These dams contribute to the contamination of streams and without healthy streams, wildlife habitats do not receive their natural allocation of nutrients, leading to an overall reduction in the productivity of estuary waters.
