Wildlife includes all free and undomesticated species. However, the essence of wildlife cannot be captured in mere words. It consists of many different levels of organization of living organisms. It is a complex concept, consisting of many relationships and ties, which we as humans are only beginning to comprehend.

Wildlife is a relatively recent term in the written history. It came into practice when humans began to tame animals and the need was felt to differentiate between wild and tame creatures. It is a narrow field, and our studies in this area would be incomplete without looking at the "bigger picture". It is one of many parts of the ecosphere. Therefore, let us start with a better understanding of what governs life on earth.

BACKGROUND has been divided into the following four sections. Navigate through each section and enlighten yourself!

Origin of life- In this section, we shall take a look at what life and living organisms are and how life originated on earth.

Diversity of life- In this section, we shall learn about biodiversity and the mechanisms that lead to it. We shall look at the theory of natural selection, evolution and some exciting aspects of populations.

Realm of Ecology- Here we shall learn about the many relationships and structures within the ecosphere, and how they apply to our study of wildlife.

Importance of Wildlife- Let us examine the many benefits of biodiversity and wildlife, and how their problems are our problems as well.
