As you enter the Cretaceous period (136 - 165 million years ago), youi can pick out familiar oak, beech, and maple trees shading the ferny terrain. The globe enjoys a mild warm climate with ice-free poles.

TYRANNOSAURUS REX - As tall as a two-story building and 45 feet in length, this fierce carnivore reigns as the king of the dinosaurs. The Tyranosaurus sports powerful jaws and double serrated teeth, some 15 inches long, for preying upon large herbivores. For ripping and tearing flesh, he uses two razor-sharp claws on his small upper limbs and three similar claws on his huge, powerful back legs.

TRICERATOPS - This fellow gets his name from the three sharp bony horns protruding from his skull. A bony plate also covers his neck for protection and provides an anchor for his powerful beak-like jaw.

ANKYLOSAURAE - Since he is a plant-eater, Ankylosaurae depends on his armor of bone-like plates to protect his body from carnivores. He can also swing his heavy tail lika a huge club. Moving on all fours, this 15 to 33 foot giant roams through low, swampy areas looking for food.
