Despina ![]()
Despina is close to Neptune's equatorial plane (about 27,000 kilometers - 17,200 miles) and orbits the planet every eight hours. Discovered in 1989 by Voyager 2 photographs, Despina is an oddly shaped satellite with a rather calm history (without too many violent geological upheavals common to many other satellites). Despina also rotates in the same direction Neptune orbits.
