Earth and the Moon - courtesy NASAOur planet is seen much differently by astronauts in space that we see it here on Earth. We view our plant as an endless expanse of blue sky and lush forests. From space we realize just how thin and fragile our atmosphere is that protects us from the desolate vacuum of space. When we look down upon the earth we see a tiny planet consisting of blue water, green and brown expanses of land, and white clouds all set against the endless black background of space.
