A Closer Look

There seems to be three animals guarding the cave entrance. Do you recognize them? Each one of these animals is currently in a struggle for survival, as were the travelers along the Caminos Reales. Maybe they are guarding the cave door on purpose. The salamander is missing something. The bat is circling as if in warning to intruders. Finally, the bear is firmly planted in the doorway. I wonder how we are going to get past them to enter the cave. The key lies in answering the following questions:

  • What is the salamander missing?

  • When do bats sleep?

  • Do bears live in caves all year round?

  • We are going to have to be sneaky my friends. I'm sure that we can figure out a way to enter the cave to learn more about the Caminos Reales without disturbing these creatures. Can you? Let's go inside then. Click on the cave entrance to enter.
