German Settler: Jakob Zimmerman


Jakob Zimmerman (1764-1787) was sailing to the New World under the command of Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels, Germany. Prince Carl was determined to create a perfect society for his princess bride. One night a horrendous storm tossed Jakob overboard and he drowned. He would like to know:
