Page Properties section is very useful to change various main properties of the page that
you are creating like background and text colors and many other things, and those things
are just made to enhance the page with small changes which can make a big difference !
First to get the Page Properties
window you can simply click the File menu from the menu bar,
then choose Page Properties. Or right-click on any part of the
page and choose Page Properties from the menu that appears. The
following window will appear...
Five types of properties will appear as
five sub-titles at the top of the window in which you can choose from by clicking the one
you want. Below you will find an illustration for each one...
General
Location: it's the path and filename
of the page you are creating which is set automatically as you save the page.
Title: it's the title of the page
which will appear in the title bar of the browser.
Default Target Frame: it's is the name
of the frame in which all the hyperlinks in the page will open in. To change it, click then follow steps 3 and 4 in
changing the Target Frame section in the Hyperlinks session.
Background Sound: from which you can
set a background music to the page. This music file can be a MIDI file or a WAVE file, but
it's strongly recommended that you make it a MIDI file for it's very small size so that
users don't wait a lot of time till they download the page to hear the music. Follow the
next steps to know how to set a background music...
- To choose and change the file location, simply write the path and filename of the music
file in the Location text field in the Background
Sound section, or click Browse to choose the file
from a certain location.
- As a default, the background music will loop forever as the Forever
check box is checked, but you can uncheck it to change the times of looping.
- Below, you will find push button called "Style", click it to get the following
window...
- In the Style window you can set some special styles to your
page as: Class, Alignment, Borders,
Font, Colors and Text.
But very special styles will not appear in any browser except in the Microsoft Internet
Explorer !
Background
Here you can set and change the background of the page as you learned in
the Background session.
There are some additions as changing the color of Hyperlinks,
Visited Hyperlinks and Active Hyperlinks;
changing them is as changing the background color
as you learned in the Background session, but from their
specified drop down menus !
Margins
Margin is the spacing of the page from the top
or left from which your text, images and all other things begin to be put in the page.
To specify margins, check the Specify Top Margin
or Specify Left Margin check box, and set the number of pixels
you want to be the spacing.
Custom
From which you can set some additional variables like System
Variables and User Variables, but they won't
affect the page, even they haven't an actual benefit !
Click Add to add a variable, click Modify
to change in the value of a made variable, or click Remove to
remove a made variable.
Language
Normally this section has no useful function, but for some rare reasons
you can change the type of HTML Encoding of saving or loading
the page by clicking the drop down menu of either and choosing the type. |
