: : : Who do you think should set the standards?
: now Genetic Engineering is not merely considered as a way of breeding, if we set the standards on the basis of their commercial viability, how are we going to deal with social, moral, religious and other problems caused by this in the near future?
Now again, it is not about who SHOULD or how SHOULD we set the standards, It is the way they might be set..realistically
Unfortunately, Ideal things don't seem to happen, but I hope they do. Ideally, probably people will have to do things by their heart, by their instinsive self..and others would have to trust. I see no policing organizations.

: : Probably, like everything else the American way, standards are set on the basis of their commercial viability.
: : It the same with the computer chips. The reason for their miniaturization was that the folks wanted to put in more chips on a standard size silicon wafer(silicon wafer come in the same sizes). So you could make more chips with a single wafer...and so the companies make more profit.
: : Thats the basic standard setting thing.
