Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have created a coin-size microchip drug dispenser that may be implanted under the skin. It would be programmed to release medications in concentrated formulas -- all on different schedules. Sensors may even be attached to the chip to detect the level of a drug in your body and then add more as needed.
While it may take several years to get the technology to market, scientists say that the technology would be especially useful for elderly patients as they might now be able to take all their medications in one "pill".
