I got interested in business in 1996, when I took a Business Studies course at School. We got to set up our own leisure business, which was quite fun and I took it from there. 2. When [how] did you get interested in computers & the internet? I got interested in computers at the age of 9 when I had a Sinclair Spectrum. Since then I have had a Amiga and am now on my 2nd PC. I got the Internet in 1997, as well as a copy of Microsoft FrontPage 97, and again, took it from. 3. How did you come up with the idea for an eCommerce business? I thought it would be a challenge as it is a very competitive industry, and thought it would be quite fun if I had my own company. 4. What problems did you encounter along the way? How did you solve them? Mostly lack of finance and customers, but I got round this by being interviewed in a local newspaper and radio station. Also finding a decent web host was quite difficult as I was lacking of money to get a proper "dot com" domain. 5. [How do you measure success?] Who or what helped you most to become successful? People referring me to other people, and various news articles. Plus practicng the various techniques. 6. How many people are involved in your company now? [What kind of people do you look for to work for/ with your company?] Three people are involved in one way or the other. They mainly provide design theory and services like that. I am involved with a Web Design company that has some offices up the road from my house and they occasionally give me work to do for them. I am trying to get a sponsor to help me with software, as I cannot afford things like Adobe Photoshop at present (if you are interested, email me :) 7. What the best thing that has come from being a teen entrepreneur? You can have reputation and have people look up to you. Plus you can work when you want, and decide what to do with finances. 8. What do you consider to be your biggest [most personally satisfying] accomplishment? Desiging my first website for a client. This was satisfing because it recieved a good all round applause from surfers around the world. I am now redesigining the site. :) 9. What is your advice to aspiring teen entrepreneurs? Be original and dont undersell your self. I do HTML pages at £25 / $45 per page, plus a £100 / $3000 management fee. Don't be afraid to charge big prices!! You are worth it. 10. What are your plans for the future? To set up an ISP (this is actually alrady happening!), and to have offices and a full time staff. Also, to expand into other computer-related industries.
