Identify
Define & Refine
Develop
1. Identify
So you've got this idea, huh? And you know its going to be great.
Well the first thing you've got to do, is identify the idea.
So you've got this idea.
"Okay, okay, we've already covered that!", you say.
What you should do now is open up a word-processing program, and
create a new document. And start writing.
You say, "Writing WHAT?!" and make a big show of being totally
exasperated.
Well... Write anything! Anything that comes to mind about your idea.
"BE MORE SPECIFIC!", you yell, now totally frustrated.
Ah hah. You see now the advantage of identifing what you're referring
to. The same thing goes for your new idea. You've got to explain it
throughly.
Ask yourself these questions:
What is my idea about?
Is there a potential market for it?
Is there already a product like it?
What could be a good name for it?
What problems might you run into?
Basically, just write... Write about your idea in great detail, and
create a "plan of action" to follow while developing your idea. It
is okay if you do not follow this plan exactly, it is just to give
you an idea of how to proceed.

Define & Refine
Once you have identified your idea more clearly (as explained in the
previous section), you can begin to define and refine.
In this process you should ask yourself questions such as the ones
below. You might need to do some research to get accurate answers.
How much is it going to cost to offer your product/service?
How difficult is it going to be to distrubute?
Will you be able to make a profit?
After you have answered, and done a little research on your answers
your word-processing document should be updated.
You should be seeing the future of your idea now... And your plan of
action should become more detailed.
Having a good plan of action will help make the next step (development)
much easier.

Develop
So you're getting really excited about your idea, huh?
Great!
You have now entered the Development phase of making your idea reality.
Don't worry... This is a really fun part, because you get to see your
ideas beginning to come alive.
Once you finish the steps discussed in the past two sections, you
should be ready to start carrying out your plan of action.
You're plan of action should include creating a website for your
service/product/idea.
A good website should typically have these components:
- A "site map" (similar to a plan of action) explaining
what and where everything is. A site map is essential, and
will help you organize your thoughts of what to include on the site.
- An "About Us", explaining your who you are, and your history.
- A page dedicated to explaining your service/product/idea, other
special details, and pricing.
Once you've got those three things down, you have will a sense of
direction and it will be easier to expand your website.
You've reached the end of this section...
Please move onto the next section, "Materials".
