All children have the right to go to school.

According to the children's convention all children have the right to receive education.

§ 28: The child has the right to go to school and to receive an education.

And the convention also says:

§ 32: All children has the right to be protected from strenuous and dangerous labour.

But this is how it works:

  • Some children are forced to work because of poverty, customs and lack of schools.
  • 250 million children between the age of 5 and 14 perform strenuous and harmful work. This is without counting the children that work in private homes and farms, if you count those as well the number is 400 million.
  • 80 million working children risk become handicapped because of their work.
  • UNICEF fights for all work that hurts children's health and education to be stopped.
  • Half of the working children in the world come from Asia.
