Final stage of the game
At this stage , it is basically trying to minimise the territory of opponent's land or maximising your own . Like in the diagram below

There is no more place for black to move (He think that he will not survive if he enter black's land , so he play 1 to reduce black territory and end the game . Counting then starts.
Of course there is method to how you play the ending .
In .gif) , white play seed 1 to reduce black land . Black have to response at seed 2 . If he responds at seed 3 , the seed will be immediately in atari and will be captured in white's turn . Black seed 4 is a must to prevent a cut . White seed 5 then start the same tactics to invade black's land . Black 8 is mistake as it should join at 9 to prevent a cut . White seed 9 cut and eliminate the black group as it tries to run at the bottom line (Another lesson to learn from here ----- try not to run from the bottom line as your liberty will be taken up by the line ).

.gif) White move diagonal at seed 1 , wanting to attack into black land at seed 6 , which is a jump that can never be cut

[ see in until White seed 3 , if black cut at any of the marked points , it will be in atari hence , the jump at seed 1 cannot be cut and is better than playing at seed 3. ]
Black has to block at seed 2 and white subsequent responds with seed 3 . After the small battle , white moves its attention to the lower portion of the board by placing seed 7 , receiving a defence from black seed 8 and white has to join at seed 9 to prevent cutting at that point.

, then it will be a Ko which is harmless to white but more important to black because if black lose the Ko , then much of black land will be lost .
