Hand Geometry

Historical Information:

Hand geometry has never been used as a main identifying feature. However, palm readers use it to determine a person's future using palmistry.

The Use of Hand Geometry in Biometrics:

There is wide public acceptance of hand biometrics since it is not intrusive. However, in most cases, hand geometry can only be used for verification, not identification, since it is not determined whether hands are unique to every human. Hand geometry, in general, costs thousands of dollars.

LiveGrip

Developed by Advanced Biometrics. Unlike the other methods, LiveGrip uses the unique vein patterns of the palm. To use it, the user simply grips something, usually as a door knob. Photo-optics determine the location of the veins beneath the skin. An alogirthim takes the locations and transforms it into an code.
