The International Space Station

Why an International Space Station? In the past, there have been hostilities between countries over space development. Obviously, the Space Race comes to mind. Like the Apollo-Soyuz mission, the International Space Station has a symbolic meaning: Countries which are researching space technology combine resources to reach a common goal: An International Space Station. No more Space Races, but rather joint research. Besides having a symbolic meaning, the International Space Station will probably benefit greatly from such an international cooperation. The following pages will give you an insight into the inner workings of the ISS: its construction, objectives and research opportunities.
