The mystical races of the magical realm approach.....
The races of Krynn were originally divided into only three; the elves, the longest lived and beloved of the Gods of Goodness, the humans, the neutral faction, who had the shortest lifespan and thus could easily be lured to either side, and the ogres, slaves to the Gods of Evil. However, more races came to be. The reason was simple: Reorx asked some humans to help him forge the world, but they were greedy people, full of vices, having no pride in what they did. Reorx grew angry at them, and turned them into gnomes. The gnomes, although having Reorx's disfavour at first, soon gained it back again, and the god gave them the means to achieve the Graygem, which contained Chaos and thus a great source of energy. They got the gem, but it escaped, and got captured by Gargath, a powerful magician. The gnomes, or rather a group of them, managed to lay siege to the castle which contained the Graygem. Unfortunately, when they Graygem's light shone upon them, the gnomes began to fight among themselves, for one faction wanted the Graygem for wealth, while another faction wanted to take the gem apart to see how it worked. Thus they were transformed, into dwarves and kender. Gully dwarves, or Aghar (anguished), came about through intermarriage between gnomes and dwarves, and had none of the better traits of either race. the other races came about through simple evolution. Another point to note is that only the three original races can actually go back in time but cannot change time, other races might be able to travel back in time, like Tasslehoff did, but they are outside the flow of time, thus, they are able to change time and really mess things up. (like Tas did)
