1996 Survey Data Sheet

Your help is needed in looking for deformed frogs this summer and fall. Please follow the instructions and fill out the data sheet of this page. Please be sure you are with an adult or responsible leader when you do this survey. Thanks for your help!!!

Frog Observation Information

Types & number of frogs seen or heard at the survey site. Did you see them on water or land; what kind of water or land? Please also report if no frogs were found:

Description & number of frogs you captured. Use a ruler to measure them. Measure the frog from the tip of the snout to the base of the spine. The size will help determine if they were born this year, or last year.

Are the frogs normal or abnormal frogs? If they are the latter describe the abnormality. Look at the legs, toes (there are 4 on the front feet), eyes, feet, & general body appearance. Is there red on the underside thigh & abdomen area of the frog (it is "redleg", an infection which can indicate stress)?

Comments or other observations.

If you photographed a frog, use a coin or ruler in your photo to give perspective to the picture. Also, keep a log of photos.
