Paper Butterfly
[an error occurred while processing this directive]

This construction could be a bit difficult. If you have any problems, your mom, dad or any other adult will surely help you.

You need two sheets of paper, scissors, glue and maybe a thread to hang the butterfly up when you have finished.

How to make it:

1. Choose one of the butterflies below (1 or 2). Click on the drawings and print them.

Butterfly 1
Front Wing Piece

Hindwing Piece

2. When you have printed them, take one of the sheets and fold it in the middle so that you can see the printing on top.

3. Then take your scissors and cut the "butterfly" out. Cut through both layers so you get two "butterflies" looking the same out of one paper.

4. Take the other sheet and do the same with it. (No.2. and 3.)

5. Now you have four pieces, two with a frontwing and two with a hindwing. You can paint them if you want to.
Take one piece with frontwing and one with hindwing. Look at the picture on the right. Put glue on the area of the hindwing piece that is colored gray in the picture. Then put the frontwing and hindwing piece together. The antennae and feet of the pieces should be exactly one upon another.

6. Do the same with the other two pieces, but mirrored. If you put the two glued pieces you made next to each other so that they both "look" in the same direction, one time the frontwing and one time the hindwing piece should be on top.

7. Now look at the picture on the right. Take one of your pieces and put glue on the part that is gray in the picture. Pay attention that the frontwing is on top.

8. Then stick the pieces together so that the bodies are one upon another. Make sure that the frontwing parts are inside, the hindwing parts outside.

9. Now you have nearly finished. You just need to fold the feet on each side to the outside as you can see in the picture.

10. If you want to hang up your butterfly, glue a thread between the wings on the body.

CONGRATULATIONS, you’ve finished now!!!
