1905 Development of Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity

In 1905, Einstein published his paper on the special theory of relativity. It's called "special" because it dealt with the special case when objects moved at a constant speed along a straight line.

Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

Einstein established several laws of relativity concerning speed of light, mass, space and time. But the most astounding of all was his idea that energy and mass were just two facets of the same thing.

Energy and Mass Relationship

He summarized the relationship between energy and mass by his famous equation: E = mc2 where E is energy, m is mass and c is the speed of light, which is a constant.
Einstein's laws of relativity seem to be completely against our daily life experience but no matter how unbelievable they are, many experimental tests of this theory have confirmed that Einstein was right.
