Detection by Diffusion Cloud Chamber

     Instructions:

      To experiment with different radiation sources, just click on 
      the respective buttons (alpha, beta or gamma).

      To stop viewing, click the STOP button.



 

     Observations:
     Under diffusion cloud chamber,

• Alpha source gives bright , straight tracks ;

• Beta source produces thin, twisted tracks. They are small in mass and so bounce off from air molecules on collision.

• Gamma source gives scattered, thin tracks. Gamma rays remove electrons from air molecules. These elctrons behave like beta particles.
