The Han Dynasty
During the Han Dynasty, the emperors encouraged the development of agriculture.
Apart from the common use of iron tools, people invented now farming tools
and methods. during the rule of Wu Di (ªZ«Ò), Chiu Guo
(»¯¹L), a government fooicial responsible for agricultural
management, invented the lou che (left)
.
It could be used for ploughing and sowing at the same time. With this machine,
much labour and time can be saved.
Chiu Guo also set up a new farming method called the Dai-tian Method
(¥N¥Ðªk) (below). Management on the farms was made easier.
Moreover, it could improve the fertility of the soil.
