The Successor Formula

Lets say that we want to calculate the value of the Fibonacci number that comes after 8. For this, we use the Successor Formula:

In order to find the Fibonacci number that comes after 8, we plug 8 into the Successor Formula.

This equation then reduces as follows:

So according to the Successor Formula, the Fibonacci term that comes after 8 is 13. See if it is correct by writing out the first few terms of the series.
