Golden Rectangle

The following movie demonstrates how to construct a Golden Rectangle from a square. Click on the green button to begin the movie. During the movie, you can click the green button to continue.

The repeating animation at the end of this movie shows how a Golden rectangle can have a square subtracted from it, and the remaining rectangle has the same proportions as the original. Only a Golden rectangle (like the one constructed above) has this property.
