Is there something like evolution?
Now that we know about the basics of each theory, let us see if all are actually true.
Fact 1:
A variety of moths known as the peppered moth exist in the United Kingdom. This moth exists in two main forms, a dark one and a light one. They live on the bark of the trees which were covered by lichen. The white variety was more common before the industrial revolution but during the industrial revolution in Europe, the black one increased in numbers and became the more common one. By also simulating such conditions in laboratories, the same results can be seen in the moth population.
Creationist explanation:
The white coloured pepper moths did not adapt to the changing environment, but were eaten up by birds. The evolutionist claims that the white moths began to become black in colour due to natural selection and adaptation are false according to creationists. In fact, one creationist has even stated that:
'I grew up in the city of Detroit in the fifty's through the seventy's. During my youth, the vast majority of the city's population was Caucasian. As I am, it is now predominately Black. Using their methods of observation, can I conclude that many of the White people evolved into Black people? Now, why was there an apparent change in the moth's color? Did it change color to adapt to its environment? No, the light moths were very simply eaten by the birds.'
But this can hold true only when it is not monitored in the laboratory. But what about the observed changes when monitored carefully and meticulously in the lab by scientists in the same simulated conditions?
Evolutionist explanation:
The soot dis-charged by great factories killed the lichen that grow on tree trunks, leaving the tree trunks bare and dark. The white peppered type was camouflaged on a lichen-covered trunk, but not on a bare lichen-less trunk. Birds began to eat up the white moths. Natural selection removed the white pigment which was causing the death of many moths and the frequency of the black coloured moths in the off-spring began to increase. This adaptation (camouflage) helped them to successfully evade the birds. This explanation goes very well with the theory of evolution.
Fact 2: The age of the earth.
Creationist's estimation: They say that it ranges between 6000 and 10000 years.
Evolutionist estimation: The earth is approximately 3500 million years old. The radio-isotopic evidence of the antiquity of the earth proves this fact.

So now we know that evolution exists, and for even those who do not accept the current theory of evolution, they must definitely accept that there is something called evolution which led to the existence of the currently living forms.
Now that we know that evolution is true, let us move on and find out what really causes evolution, but before that get a basic understanding of genetics as it play a major role in evolution.
