The hominid tree
The hominid tree can never be considered to be perfect as new fossils continue to be found, but this is how it stands currently.

The earliest hominid was Ardipithecus ramidus. From then on came the Australopithecines which later branched into the robust Australopithecines and the genus . After H.erectus, came the Neanderthals and archaic Homo sapiens which later evolved into the modern sapiens sapiens
