Welcome to A Collection of Classics! What is a Classic? Determining what literature deserves the label "classic" is a difficult task. Every person has a different understanding of what the term means. Is there a common idea in all the shades of meaning? We have endeavored to form a definition that we could use as a guideline to help us choose which authors to discuss on this site. To help you to answer that question is one of the main purposes of this site. The authors of classics are as different and diverse as the writings themselves. You may find the author and his life to have as much mystery, comedy, or tragedy as his works do. To embark upon your journey into the story of these people who have shaped our ideas for centuries we have provided several means of entry. Just select an option to begin:
(you'll also find all these options on the top, bottom, or left side of every page) Also, if you want to give us your thoughts, you can email us at 27864@thinkquest.org or sign our guestbook. If you're interested in the permissions and citations for this site, click here. |
