Contraints to the project

· Due to their intense toxicity, many pathogenic bacteria and fungus could not be used as part of our experiment.

· Venom is in a short supply, because scorpions are difficult to be reared in captivity, under laboratory conditions. Furthermore, scorpions only produce small amounts of venom, as little as 50 ml for each milking.

· Moreover, the venom can only be obtained from the scorpions fortnightly as the scorpions need to be given sufficient time to replenish their supply of venom. Furthermore, the scorpions might die if they were to be milked too often.

· At the time of our experiments, there was also a limited number of scorpions to be milked.
