Most Olympic Wins

The most team wins in the Prix de Nations is seven, by Germany (as West Germany from 1968 to 1990), in 1936, 1956, 1960,1964, 1972, 1988 and 1996.

The record for the most individual gold medals is two, by Pierre Jonqueres d'Oriola (France) in 1952 and 1964.

The greatest number of Olympic gold medals is five, by Hans Winkler (West Germany): four team in 1956, 1960, 1964 and 1972 and the individual Grand Prix in 1956. He also won team silver in 1976 and team bronze in 1968, making a record seven medals overall.

Lowest Score at Olympics

The record for the lowest score obtained by a winner is no faults, by: Frantisek Ventura (czechoslovakia) on Eliot in 1928; Alwin Schockemohle (West Germany) on Warwick Rex in 1976; and Ludger Beerbaum (Germany) on Classic Touch in 1992.

Charles Pahud de Mortanges (Netherlands) won a record four Olympic gold medals: team in 1924 and 1928 and individual (riding Marcroix) in 1928 and 1932, when he also won a team silver medal.

Germany (as West germany from 1968 to 1990) have won a record nine team gold medals: 1928, 1936, 1964, 1968, 1976, 1984, 1988, 1992 and 1996.

A record two individual gold Olympic medals were won by Henri St Cyr (Sweden) in 1952 and 1956 and by Nicole Uphoff (Germany) in 1988 and 1992.

Dr Reiner Klimke (West Germany) won a record six Olympic golds (team from 1964 to 1988 and individual in 1984). He also won individual bronze in 1976.
