How to identify the Capacitors

Open Bag 2 and carefully lay out the capacitorsonto your workspace. A nnumber code on the capacitor indicates its capacitance. The codes and corresponding capacitance values are shown in the following table:

(Note: The 1 uF and 10 uF capacitors are marked with their actual capacitance values. The negative end of the capacitors are also indicated on it. It is important to place the 1 uF and 10 uF capacitors in the proper polarity orientation in the circuit. These capacitors are the three largest.)

Now identify and sort the capacitors. (See bag 2 for part numbers and capacitance values) Capacitor locations are indicated on the PCB by a "C" followed by the part number in or near the outline indicating the placement of the capacitor.

To place a capacitor, insert the leads through the holes and press the capacitor gently down close to the circuit board.Turn the board over and solder the leads in place. Use the soldering technique described in the tips section. Solder capacitors C 1 through C12 in place.

Capacitors C13, C14, and C15 must be positioned with the proper polarity. The location of the positive end of the capacitor is indicated on the component side of the circuit board.You can se that on C13 and C15, an arrow points toward the negative lead. On C14, the negative lead is indicated by a black stripe with a minus sign on the side nearest the negative lead.

Place the capacitors in their correct order and solder into place.
