When there are fires or accidents that involve fire, sometimes somebody may result injuried and the knowledge of how to treat burns of first and second degree is very important.

The graveness of a burn depends of how deep it is and of the area that embraces. When it has only turned red the skin, they have not been formed bladders and the area is small, the burn is of small importance; to alleviate the pain soon, it is only necessary to let fall cold water on it for some minutes; the quickest form so that the pain ceases in a burn it is trying not to expose it to the air, and the water protects from this. Apply an ointment that its approved by the doctors or a baking soda pasta, covering the burn with a sterilized bandage.

If the skin presents bladders, it is open or it is affected more than 10% of its entirety, the case is more serious. The victim must be wrapped in a blanket or sheet and transferred immediately to a hospital; if this is not possible, cover the burn with layers of dry and clean cloth that doesn't have lints, to protect it from the air, taking care of not exploding the bladders. You can also submerge the part burned in lukewarm water, or place the person in a tub of lukewarm water letting that this flows. Oils should not be applied, ointments, neither something for the style; remove the slack clothes and cut any material stuck to the skin. It should also be been prepared for if the victim enters in shock. To avoid shock, and if the victim is conscious  give him a solution of half spoonful of salt slowly and half of baking soda.

The burns of sun come from having been exposed to the ultraviolet rays; when it has been for lingering time, they leave bladders, and the problem can be serious. When taking a sun bath, protect the skin with cream or blocking lotion, applying it of agreement with the indications. The first day, the person should only be exposed to the sun by a short time, later he can increase gradually in the subsequent days. If there are burns, a solution of baking soda or Epsom salts will soften the skin.. Remember that the doctor is who should point you out what medications to use, or what is the same thing NEVER AUTO PRESCRIBE A MEDICINE!

The victim feels headaches, vertigo, nausea and may even lose the knowledge. If you suspect a heatstroke, you should call to the doctor, because it is a serious emergency; while one waits, you should move the victim to the interior and put it in bed; all its body will be rubbed with an impregnated sponge of alcohol or lukewarm water, to reduce its temperature. If you don't have a thermometer, took the pulse; a lower rhythm to 110 pulsations per minute means that the temperature is bearable.

The exhaustion produced by the heat obeys to that the body loses salt and liquids by an excess of perspiration. It can happen in the interior or in the exterior of a house, generally in hot climates.  The symptoms are: abundant perspiration, paleness, nausea, vertigo and possible fainting, also suffer of exaggerated fatigues. It should be put to bed and to give him a solution of salt and water (a spoonful in two cups) little by little.
