The Components of Disordered Eating:

 

1.The drive for fitness includes:

a.Acceptance or unrealistic "images" as a personal idea.

b.Association of slenderness and weight loss with achievement, success and happiness.

 

2. Fear or Fat and the thought of being overweight.

 

3.Perceived overweight and negative body images.

 

4. Dieting and weight cycling.

 

5. Immoderate exercising.

 

6. Unhealthy weight management practices (e.g.,self-induced vomiting and laxative use)

 

Some persecutors of Disordered Eating

 

1. Low self-esteem, feelings of inadequacy, generalized anxiety.

 

2.Definition of self in terms of appearance.

 

3. Helplessness/powerlessness and need for control.

 

4. Difficulty in managing emotions.

 

5. Social anxiety and lack of social skills.

 

6. Perfectionism.
