What are immigrants ?

Immigrants are people who leave their country, and go to live in another one.

Immigrants come under various categories, Refugees People who leave a country to escape war.

Seekers of political asylum People who run away from a country to escape the law.

Voluntary Immigrants ( Our project is mainly on these immigrants. ) People who leave their country because they want to.

Governments are careful about who they allow into their countries. Countries usually have a limit to how many immigrants they allow in per year. New Zealand only allows around 20,000 immigrants in each year. New Zealand has a limit of 750 refugees each year. The government only wants this number of immigrants, otherwise the country would get over populated. The number of immigrants allowed in per year varies from country to country depending on it’s size.
