Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

German-born US physicist who formulated the theories of Relativity and worked on radiation physics and thermodynamics. In 1905, he published the special theory of Relativity. He also discussed the Laws governing the universe in his theories. Born in West Germany, he lived in Italy and Switzerland. On returning to Berlin, he received the Nobel Peace Prize for physics (on the photoelectric effect). He eventually moved to America after being persecuted by the Nazis, under the Nuremberg Laws.
