Technological Differences

Our booth at the ThinkQuest99 Finals

Sizwe, a special-needs student studying in a school for the mentally handicapped, had next to no direct access to technology. His school did not have any computers available for students and Sizwe had to handwrite all his articles before his coach's friend helped him scan them and send them over to Jason and Janine.
November 1999: The Silver Award we won at the ThinkQuest Finals is going to pay for the school's first computer!

Jason had moderate access to technology since his school provided a number of multimedia computers with Internet access and he also had access to the Internet from his home computer.

Janine had the greatest access to technology, being able to use powerful computers with high-speed Internet connections such as the iMac in her school. She was also able to use such cutting-edge software and hardware as Macromedia Director 7 and a digital camera in school.
