Landfill took away the Padang’s sea frontage long ago. More reclamation has filled in the sea in front of the paved promenade variously called the Esplanade or Queen Elizabeth Walk. Linked to newly reclaimed land dominated by huge hotel and shopping centres, the walk is popular with joggers, walkers and anglers.
