Mandai Orchid Garden

The Mandai Orchid Garden was set up on Mandai Lake Road much earlier than the zoo. John Laycock and Lee Kim Hong first set it up when Singapore Orchids leased the land from the government in December 1950.
The acreage was expanded to four hectares more than 20 years ago. The first orchid sales started at the garden in 19956 and soon the orchids were marketed overseas. Many visitors have come to see the orchid display and enjoy the Water Garden, which is landscaped with tropical plants.
