Kranji War Memorial

 

This is a peaceful, memorial park dedicated to Allied troops who died defending Singapore in the World War II. Once one enter, one would be captivated by the beautiful landscape and forget that he or she is in a war memorial. The Kanji War Memorial is the miniature Arlington National Cemetery near Washington DC in the United States. Broad expanse of white gravestones tells of the tremendous tool of the war in this tiny piece of land. After which one can find a whole list of war veterans’ names on blocks of huge stones in the Memorial. The air is clean and the surroundings quiet. Lush green carpet grass, with occasional fluttering butterflies makes the place calm and tranquil and allows one to reflect of the heroic deeds perform by those whose names appear in the Memorial.
