THE SINGAPORE FLAG

The Singapore Flag is halved horizontally into 2 colours red over white

It has at the top of the hoist a crescent moon sided by five stars in a circle all in white. The ratio of the width to the length of the flag is two is to three.

The colour red, symbolises brotherhood and equality among Man and the colour white signifies pervading and everlasting purity and virtue. The crescent moon represents a young country on the ascent in its ideals of establishing democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality as indicated by the five stars.
