Clarke Quay

It is named after Sir Andrew Clarke who was Singapore's second governor. Clarke Quay has been the commercial hub where unending stream of lighter used to transport goods upriver. Now, it is a night bazaar where one can taste delicious food and pick up gifts for family members.

This is directly across Clarke Quay and is one of the newer attractions. It is a labyrinth of shopping complexes interconnected with themed restaurants offering a international fusion of cusines.It used to be the head quaters for secret societies in the past. Then, opium dens were found there. Infamous squatters' community , coakroaches and rodents were the residents of this now-beautiful attraction. The place is so beautiful, it is hard to believe its past.
