Manipulator:

It is a mechanically controlled device used in hazardous areas. A manipulator is in the form of clamps or pincers mounted on the end of an arm and controlled by mechanical linkages from a remote point.Of-course, being manipulators used in hazardous areas, scientists had to think of something that can protect the machine from the dangerous materials being handled. So the manipulators were situated behind a screen or a protector.

Teleoperator:

The teleoperator is a servo-controlled manipulator that is not directly connected to its control system.
They are also used in hazardous operations such as under sea work, space operations, etc

.Lead Screws:

A precision screw rotates driving screws along its thread a pre-stressed nut that is attached to the driven part.
This type of drive is sometimes used on CNC machines but is seldom used on robots because of the lack of rigidity and the high friction involved.

Most articulated robots use ball to convert the rational motion of a DC motor to drive the shoulder and the arm axis.
