The primary purpose of this page is to link visitors to the planets of our Solar System. Before you proceed to the individual bodies, we would like to give you a brief history of the Solar System. The birth of our Solar System is a topic of some debate. No one is exactly sure how it happened, but there are many theories. The most accepted theory is that the Solar System was brought about from a Nebula. Nebulae are sometimes called nurseries for stars; that is, a place filled with all of the vital elements for a sun and planets. Our own Solar System was probably in this state about 4.6 billion years ago. Over time, the Sun was formed. From the stellar gases and dust, the planets of the Solar System were born.
